Search of Lakelands property yields nearly 200g of meth, weapons

THE Gang Crime Squad has seized nearly 200g of methylamphetamine, weapons and cash after executing a search warrant at a Lakelands property.

Inquiries led officers to search a home on Malata Ridge on Friday, where they found 195.4g of methylamphetamine, $35,980 cash, 0.7g of cannabis, 48 cannabis seeds and drug paraphernalia.

They also found knuckle dusters and steroids.

Two men were arrested at the home.

A 22-year-old man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, two counts of possessing prohibited drugs (steroids), possessing a prohibited weapon (knuckle dusters), having ready access to both weapons and illegal drugs, possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property and failing to ensure the safe keeping of ammunition.

He appeared in the Perth Magistrates court on 15 September 2018, and will reappear on September 28.

A 25-year-old man will be summonsed on drug-related matter.
