SEASCAPES 16-year-old Dylan Rogers is kicking goals after being one of three nationally chosen to attend a two-week stint at the FCV International Football Academy in the UK this September.

The South Coast Baptist College Year 11 student, who is currently on a football academy scholarship, competed for the overseas football opportunity against 40 other footballers around the nation.

“He participated in a camp with FCV International Football Academy for a week and they selected three out of those who attended to spend two weeks at the academy,” Rogers’ mum Nicole said.

“He will then stay for an extra week to trial with some clubs in the UK.”

Rogers, a dedicated Liverpool fan, said he always wanted to play professional football.

“I believe my commitment, good attitude and dedication to hard work will impress,” he said.

“I am hoping to play football at the highest level and believe that I need to look internationally to advance my career.”

Rogers will also compete at the School Sport Australia Football (Soccer) Championships on August 24 in Shepparton, Victoria, part of the 16 years and under boys team.

He has also travelled to the UK several times with the Advanced Development Program of Pro Football Training to play and train with various Football Club Academies.
