Senior wins top award

MANDURAH’S Rae Endersby has been awarded the top honours at the 2019 Western Australian Seniors Awards for her dedicated community service.

Ms Endersby was awarded the Regional WA Senior of the Year.

At 78 years of age, she is a long-serving volunteer to the Murray Districts region and has been particularly active in support of initiatives that help seniors and the elderly.

Ms Endersby has been an active volunteer with the Friends of the Murray Districts Hospital group for 30 years and has served as the group’s president for the past two decades.

She operates a voluntary patient trolley service at the hospital, delivering essentials to people experiencing financial hardship or other difficult circumstances.

She is also president of the Murray Health Group which assists those in the community who have weight or diet problems.

The annual awards are celebrated as part of WA Seniors Week.
