A PUP with no hope was given a second chance at life thanks to Mandurah’s Peekaboo Doggy Day Care and K9 Refuge.

Shadow, a three-year-old Rottweiler, was put up for adoption on Gumtree as her owners could not afford the surgery to fix her cruciate ligaments.

Without the surgery Shadow would be destined to live life in constant pain or face being put down.

Kevin Borgonah from K9 Refuge was alerted to Shadow’s plight.

Janine Pace from Peekaboo organised a fundraiser raising more than $3000.

Dr Michael Gibbs at Greenfield’s Veterinary fixed shadow’s knees on October 25.

Greenfield’s Veterinary discounted the cost of the operation which was originally $12,000.

Shadow remains in recovery for the next three months while being cared for by a volunteer before moving in to her forever home.
