MURRAY’S vibrancy and natural beauty will be on show in Perth in August as part of the WA Local Government Association’s 2017 Banners in the Terrace competition.
Shire President Maree Reid said the Shire of Murray’s entry was a colourful display of the district’s picturesque natural elements and community pride.
“The banner, created by Brenda Beacham on behalf of Murray Districts Historical Society, is an ideal representation of the Shire,’’ she said.
The banner was selected by councillors from an impressive pool of entries from community groups, individuals and schools.
It will compete with other local government banners entered into the community group category.
All entries will be displayed along St Georges Terrace and Adelaide Terrace from July 23 to August 5.
The competition is run alongside the 2017 WA Local Government Convention and Trade Exhibition and winners will be announced during the event.
