Waroona Agricultural Society secretary Alison Birch said organisers were thrilled that 16,800 people attended the show this year. Usually the crowd is less than 10,000.

Organisers said a push to attract Perth residents had paid off and offering admission free to those under 16 years old was a successful move.

‘We are over the moon; it was really busy,’ Ms Birch said.

‘The fireworks was the most outstanding we’ve ever had.

‘The new food hall area was also popular and there was more of a variety of food outlets.’
