Signage upgrade call for snake bite hazard

The woman had parked in the staff car park behind the new IGA about noon. When she got out of her vehicle, she was bitten on the leg above the ankle.

IGA staff said the woman was recovering and should be back at work soon.

Fauna locator Allison Dixon had previously removed a 152cm western brown snake from the nearby park.

She said signage at the park was inadequate to warn people of the danger.
