A SATURDAY Lotto ticket worth almost $700,000 have been claimed by two sisters who were taking care of their mother.

The two sisters have come forward as the owners of the winning ticket, which is worth more than $692,000.

They decided to care for their mother following a health scare last year and were thanked with a Saturday Lotto ticket each week.

“When Mum became ill we took it upon ourselves to keep her out of a home and look after her,” one of the sisters said.

“The store has a Buddha that customers place coins on top of for good luck but when Mum went to rub its belly, all the coins fell off into her hands . . . maybe that was a sign.”

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said it was heart-warming to see another WA family share in a Division One win, whether there was Buddha luck or not.

“Thanks to Saturday Lotto our Winners Room has been busy celebrating some life changing prizes for WA players,” he said.

“We would love to see this winning run continue as we gear up for Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw on 15 February.”
