A P-plater speeding in Mandurah has copped a massive fine, but it’s his explanation to police for the high speed that will leave you scratching your head.
The P-plater was caught doing 90km/h in a 50km/h zone on Sunday afternoon.
According to Peel Traffic police, when they asked him to explain himself, he said he was “just being a dickhead”.
The P-plater’s fine was posted by police on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
The driver was caught by Peel Traffic on Bortolo Drive which is a residential area popular with families.
Type one novice drivers in their first six months can gain four demerit points, while type two novice drivers can gain eight demerit points in the final year of being on green P-plates.
Drivers move from Type one to Type two novice after holding a provisional licence for a year.
