PINJARRA Skate Park will be transformed for the Shire of Murray’s Street Chillz Drug Aware Youth Fest on April 2.
The main attraction will be the Freestyle Now Skate, Scooter and BMX Competition from noon to 4pm, including a Girls Only category.
Helmets are essential.
Samuel Osborne (aka Samwise) will host the Beatboxing OM Dome, a relaxed and funky jam space for avant-garde beatboxing loopers and musicians.
“Samwise will demonstrate how to create a beat in second using the Boss RC-505 Loopstation,’’ Murray shire president Maree Reid said.
“Whether you like hip hop, drum and bass, minimal, jazz or something totally new, this is a chance to try it out.”
Aerosol artists Graphite Crew hosts a Street Sesh giving budding artists the tools to help create a 12 metre urban art masterpiece that will adorn the fence perimeter of the skate park after the event.
Other festival highlights include Bubble Sports and Murray Leisure Centre’s Boom Fit Boxing Sessions.
A sausage sizzle, cool drinks, coffee, cake and ice cream will be for sale from several food stalls and a Kids’ Corner will also be available for a small fee.
The Youth Fest is an official event of the 2016 Youth Week and is smoke, alcohol and drug free.
Register oncoming events or visit the registration table at the skate park from 11am on the day.
