Senior school students raised money and encouraged their families to donate to the program and bring a bit of Christmas cheer to children in South East Asia.

This year school administrator Mary Lane co-ordinated the program.

The school has been involved in the program before and Ms Lane has been personally involved for years.

Operation Christmas Child involved packing a shoebox with little gifts for children living in impoverished countries.

The senior school alone will send 70 shoeboxes to the charity early this month.

The junior school also contributed their own shoeboxes.

Ms Lane encouraged other families and schools to get involved in the project.

‘The more the merrier,’ she said.

‘I’ve been involved for seven years with my family. It’s probably the only gift the children who receive the boxes ever get.

‘The students here are excited to be a part of it and to help other children.’
