Super way to gauge cyclist activity

Staff ReporterMandurah Coastal Times

Super Tuesday, on the first Tuesday in March, provides participating councils with reliable figures about rider numbers, the routes they use and the state of cycle paths and roads, strengthening the case for better bike facilities.

Greenfields residents Gayle and Pat McGovern were just two of those counting cyclists between 7am and 9am, and raising $100 for their favourite group ” Mandurah Croquet Club.

Mrs McGovern said cyclist counters could raise $50 each for a favourite club and it was a great way for smaller or struggling clubs to raise funds.
