Swimming WA Open Water Swim Series: Mandurah to host next round over long weekend

MANDURAH’S Town Beach will be the venue for round 10 of the Swimming WA Open Water Swim (OWS) Series over the long weekend.

The event will attract more than 350 swimmers of all ages and fitness levels on Monday to tackle the variety of swim distances and a chance for Swimming Clubs from all over WA to compete for the Club Premiership.

Clubs will compete for the Jeanette Bailey Cup along with $300 prize money for the most points received.

The Kevin Holtom Club Participation Shield will be up for grabs and granted to the club with the most participants in the open water swim event.

Since commencing in November 2017, the OWS Series has had record crowds at its events at Cottesloe Beach, Busselton, Leighton, Scarborough, Coogee, Harvey Dam, Sorrento, Rockingham and most recently Shorehaven.

Swimming WA’s annual Club Championships will also take place over the weekend at HBF Stadium, as well as the WA Country Pennants event at Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre which is set to attract 30 swimming clubs from regional WA.

Online registrations for Round 10 Mandurah will close 10pm Friday 2 March 2018, however there are registrations available on the day.
