STUDENTS from Takaishi High School in Osaka, Japan, are visiting Halls Head College to experience Australian culture and improve their English language skills.

The school sends students to Halls Head once a year for two weeks as part of an exchange program and partnership between the two schools.

“They stay with local families, practice their English and experience what life is like in Australia,” Halls Head College Japanese teacher Ueda Sensei said.

Halls Head College student Jemma said she was enjoying being a host to visiting Japanese student Suzuna.

“It has been a lot of fun having Suzuna stay with us as we are learning about Japanese culture and language as well as showing the students around our local area,” she said.

“We have visited Bounce in Rockingham, the Mandurah Foreshore and will be going to Dwellingup this weekend.”

The students also spend time with local primary school students, discover the local area and visit Perth for shopping and sightseeing.
