PEEL Youth Services family support officer Tanya Langford has won the City of Mandurah Convention Scholarship as part of the Aspire Program.
Mandurah Mayor Marina Vergone said Ms Langford was a deserving winner who was doing wonderful work in her role.
“Tanya is passionate about raising the profile of youth violence in the home,” she said. “She will be a strong advocate for Mandurah, with the hope of bringing an event here in future that focuses on family and domestic violence, which in turn will increase our knowledge and go a long way towards helping our community.”
Ms Langford said she was excited to receive the scholarship.
“By improving young lives, we have to look at the family,” she said. “This in turn will make a better community.”
