A TEACHER accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student appeared briefly in Mandurah Magistrates Court today.

The female teacher was not required to enter a plea.

She appeared on four counts of indecently dealing with a child over 16 under their authority and six counts of sexually penetrating a child over 16 under their authority.

Her lawyer John Flanagan made an application for a disclosure date to be set.

Mr Flanagan tried to have this date set in Bunbury.

However, Magistrate Vivien Edwards refused this request as the alleged offences occurred locally.

The woman was remanded to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on May 11.
