The Robertson Brothers are coming to MPAC

THE Robertson Brothers Variety Show is totally unlike a standard tribute show.

The brothers’ childhood home appreciated the TV variety show and they decided to reinvent the magic of the old-school ’60s shows.

The new format comes in the form of a show in which the Everly Brothers fill in for a Johnny Cash show and bring in a host of celebrities including Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the Bee Gees and the Hollies.

The show also features Simon Brook McLachlan from the original cast of Jersey Boys.

If ’60s music is your thing, then this big-screen, interactive multimedia presentation is the show for you.

“People say it takes them on a trip down memory lane and that’s not such a bad idea considering this crazy world we live in,’’ Ben Robertson said.

The brothers were born and bred in Sydney and brought up on the Everly Brothers, who were their parents’ favourites.

They have been performing together for 25 years.

“We started doing the Everlys about four years ago and it works really well,” Robertson said.

The brothers perform 70-80 shows a year and arrive in Mandurah in July.

They said they sell out their shows wherever they go, including 23 of the last 25.

The Robertsons are arguably best known for the song that was the theme tune of Home and Away between 2000 and 2006.
