Jo Liddelow always wanted to go skydiving and told her family that was what she wanted for her 60th birthday. However, her late husband was worried about the daring drop and talked her out of it.

However when her daughter Jill organised a skydive to fundraise for Peel Community Living, Mrs Liddelow decided it was ‘better late than never’.

‘I have always wondered what it would be like to float down from a plane,’ she said.

Mrs Liddelow also hopes to talk her 16-year-old grandson into taking the plunge with her.

Nine people are fundraising and preparing for the skydive on November 16.

Peel Community Living provides support for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Funds raised from the skydive will go towards renovating a home. The home will be a venue where people with disabilities will be able to cook, grow vegetables, care for chickens and learn social skills. To make a donation, call 9582 6105.
