NINE tourism businesses in the Peel Regional are participating in Tourism Boost, a program designed to increase their exposure in domestic and international markets.

The one-on-one mentoring program has been facilitated at a local level by the Mandurah and Peel Tourism Organisation (MAPTO and delivered by Distinctly Travel Management.

The program aims to improve the marketing and online booking capability of each business and ensure their product is promoted via a number of tourism distribution channels to key markets.

Participants are also able to network and explore collaboration possibilities with other Peel tourism operators at Tourism Boost workshops.

The program is a state-wide initiative from Tourism WA and Tourism Council of WA as part of the Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure Program.

Chief executive Karen Priest said MAPTO saw great potential for Peel operators and tourism growth in the region.

“The free program of personal mentoring helps operators become travel trade ready and set up inclusions in wholesale programs,’’ she said.

“The Peel businesses will benefit from accreditation as a result of the process as well as networking and collaboration with Peel tourism operators.”
