TRASH will become treasure on Saturday as the 1st Falcon Scout Group fundraise to attend a special camp.

From books to toys, clothes and assorted brik a brak, locals are invited to find their next treasured item at the sale as 13 young scouts fundraise for their upcoming Enduro Camp.

1st Falcon Scouts group leader Cindy Tams said the camp was held every three years and gave participants the chance to enjoy a range of fun activities as well as build leadership skills, resilience and life skills.

“The camp is $220 each and we’re hoping to raise the full funds,” she said.

“We no longer receive Kidsport, so our families are doing it tough to afford all that scouting offers.

“We have already held a talent show which raised $331 and hopefully will add another fundraiser after this one.”

She said as well as the Trash and Treasure Sale they would also have tea, coffee and soup available to purchase.

“Our Cubs are participating in their own fundraisers, its not just Mum and Dad doing the hard yards,” she said.

“We’re building some great life skills in work ethics, team work, public speaking/interactions and some practical skills like money handling.

“Come on down and find your treasure, our Cubs will happily help you find just what you’re looking for.”

The Trash and Treasure Sale is on Saturday, July 13 at the Falcon Pavilion, Falcon from 9am to 2pm.
