Two men charged with animal cruelty after quokka kicking

A NORTH Yunderup man (21) and a Falcon man (20) have been charged with cruelty to animals after video was shared of a quokka being kicked at Rottnest Island.

Rottnest Island Police charged the two men over the incident on Sunday, February 12.

It is alleged at about 6pm, a man has kicked a Quokka several times before chasing the animal.

This was uploaded onto social media by the man’s friend.

The men were leaving the island today when police located them.

The Quokka has not been located and it is unclear whether it was injured. Local authorities will lookout for the animal.

The men have been evicted off the island.

Both men are due to appear at Fremantle Magistrates Court on Monday, March 13.
