THE two Sports Power stores in Mandurah and Miami will close.

Owner Hayden Burbidge said it was a heartbreaking decision to close both stores.

“For nine months we have been trying to negotiate a lease and have not been able to come to commercially viable terms,” he said.

“It’s the end of us after five years.

“We love Mandurah and I think its going through a really tough time at the moment,” he said.

Mr Burbidge said there needed to be better communication between landlords and tenants.

“It’s happening right across town,” he said.

Last night thieves broke into the Mandurah store and stole items. Mr Burbidge estimated the damage bill was more than $10,000.

Mr Burbidge took to social media saying society needed to change.

“I am so sick of it,” he said.

“We work for it and then these dogs come along and steal it.

“They destroy lives, that’s all they do.”

Mr Burbidge said after the stores close, he would spend more time with his family and take a few months off to “take stock.”
