POLICE are investigating a report that a man shot at a vehicle, near where a three-year-old boy was seated, on Pinjarra-Williams Road on Friday .

The victim reported that she was driving between Dwellingup and Boddington about 11.40am and she saw a man in the bush on the side of the road.

As she drove past, the man discharged a firearm that pierced the rear passenger door of her Mitsubishi Pajero, where her three-year-old son was seated.

No injuries were received.

The victim drove to Boddington Police Station where she reported the incident.

Officers from Boddington, Pinjarra, Waroona and Narrogin Detectives attended the scene but the man could not be located.

He was described as between 30 to 40 years of age, about 185cm tall, slim build, tanned skin, short blonde-brown messy hair, clean-shaven, wearing black jeans and a long-sleeved black shirt with patterns on the sleeves.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone that was driving on the Pinjarra-Williams Road at this time who might have seen the man.
