A GOVERNMENT grant to support veterans and their families will benefit the entire Mandurah community, Canning MHR Andrew Hastie says.
Mr Hastie said the Returned and Services League Mandurah Sub-branch would receive $4121 towards computer equipment under the Federal Government’s Veteran and Community Grants program.
The funding will go towards computer equipment for the production of newsletters and will provide a space for veterans to learn basic IT skills and access to online services.
“We honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who serve in defence of our country in many ways and this grant program will help improve the quality of life for veterans and their families,” Mr Hastie said.
He said local ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations were eligible to apply for funding for projects that contributed to the health and welfare of the veteran community through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Veteran and Community Grants program.
