POLICE are investigating a fight at Halls Head College on Thursday, involving ‘adult intruders’.
The school was put into lockdown after a gang of adults went to the school to fight students.
The Department of Education said a student was assaulted by an intruder at the front of the school, where adults were milling around.
The incident happened at the end of the lunch, prompting the school to ring the siren early to bring students inside.
Police were called to attend at 1.35pm, and the school closed the gates.
A student said they were locked in their classrooms due to a “massive fight” on school grounds.
Senior Sergeant Stephen Thompson said the incident did not involve parents.
The adults left the school grounds and students were allowed to leave their classrooms.
This isn’t the first time the school has been in the spotlight for violence.
In August, police were called to the school to confiscate a toy gun from a student.
A teacher was charged with assaulting a student in September.
