Wannanup man charged in relation to south Mandurah car jacking and assault

A MAN in his twenties was charged today in relation to a Dawesville car jacking and assault.

Mandurah Detectives executed a search warrant at a Wannanup address and arrested a 25-year-old man.

The man was charged with aggravated armed robbery, extortion, possession of a prohibited drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and having no authority to drive.

Police alleged that a 41-year-old male was sitting in his white Hyundai Getz in the beach car park at the end of Westview Parade on September 23.

The victim was allegedly punched in his face and upper torso numerous times before he was dragged from his car.

He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on October 4.
