ABOUT 100 people attended the launch of the Wayfairer’s project at David Grays Arena.

The aim of the project is to capture the grossly underutilised knowledge, skills, experience, interests and talents among adults aged 50 plus, supporting them to repurpose their attributes into the local community.

The project will also build the capacity of the local community organisations.

More than 30 clubs signed up to be involved in the project.

Club members completed a club analysis to identify gaps in their activities that volunteers could help with.

The next stage will involve participants taking part in workshops to identify their knowledge, skills and interests. They will then be offered volunteering opportunities to meet their needs.
