IT was a long cold winter, but Donna Williams is still feeling the bite.
The Halls Head resident copped a $3067 gas bill this month.
Thinking the hefty fee must be a misprint, she called AlintaEnergy and they did a leak test.

Ms Williams moved into the house in December. There was a gas stove and gas ducted heating.
Her gas bill in August was $153, so a bill in the thousands was totally unexpected.
“I always turned the heater off when I went to bed, it wasn’t left on overnight,” she said.
“I would have thought they would have warned me about the usage.
“It works out to around $35 a day.”
Ms Williams said she wanted to warn others about how expensive ducted gas heating could be.
She plans to change gas providers to Kleenheat.
AlintaEnergy have been contacted for comment.
