Wizz kid app developer impresses

Vanessa SchmittMandurah Coastal Times

AT only six-years-old, Jimmy Wong is a budding app developer and event planner.

Jimmy won a $2000 grant after he pitched his idea for an app and Family Fun Day Out Fundraiser at the Shape Mandurah Youth Community Soup Event.

His idea to make positive changes in the Mandurah community was to launch a community app that would reward locals for exercising and picking up litter.

The app Keep Fit and Tidy WA will run like a real life game, with points collected for distance travelled and litter put in bins.

Jimmy has met with City of Mandurah representatives regarding his upcoming family fun day fundraiser.

Everyone he has visited, including primary school students, gave their full support

The City of Mandurah is providing rubbish collection gloves and is printing Jimmy’s secret-clue maps, that participants will follow on the day.

The Family Day Out Fundraiser is on September 22 and involves families having a go at playing his game at three different venues.
