Truck driver dies at Rio Tinto mine site

An investigation is underway after a worker died overnight at Rio Tinto’s Paraburdoo iron ore mine in Western Australia.

The man died after his truck veered off a haul road about 11pm on Wednesday, August 15.

The mining giant confirmed the death on Thursday but offered no details, saying the incident was under investigation.

“Overnight an incident occurred at our Paraburdoo mine operations that resulted in a fatality,” a spokesman said.
