Youth worker makes finals in Peel ESTEAM Awards

JUDGES deliberating over entries in this year’s Peel ESTEAM Awards were impressed by the calibre of nominations.

Trick Cole, a finalist in the overall Champion of the Year Award, is a youth and community worker with an interest in exploring new technology and commitment to developing programs and opportunities to engage local youth.

Currently employed as the community development officer (youth) with the Shire of Murray, Cole worked with the myVoice Youth Reference Group and Murray Library to obtain an Occulus Rift virtual reality headset for the Shire of Murray, while also running a code club and establishing a regular Dungeons & Dragons group for local youth.

Also a keen actor and comedian, Cole brings new ideas and inspires the team to work together and push boundaries.

Being a man of many talents, he has also run various theatre skills workshops to meet local interest.

Award winners will be announced at the Peel ESTEAM Awards ceremony at John Tonkin College on June 21.
