Australia being turned into the land of bread and water

Harvey Brown, HerronMandurah Coastal Times

FIRST it was gym classes to pay for using recreation parks, which ratepayers pay for upkeep, now shires – starting with Gosnells – are to police our bins.

They will use ratepayers ‘money to fine them. The State cannot supply enough police to tackle crime, let alone police bins. It seems that the biggest industry now in Australia is selling our land to overseas buyers and fines.

Our Government has turned our country from milk and honey to bread and water.

We will soon need a visa to travel around Australia.

Mandurah Shire, what happened to our quaint little fishing village? I’m pretty sure we had enough land to build a little farther out instead of leaving Mandurah with car yards and traffic lights.

The Macdonald bridge over to the railway station does not get used as people have trouble with prams and wheelchairs. A tunnel under the road would have been cheaper and more practical.

The fire hazards around our town are everywhere, especially behind the Peel Health Campus.

There seems to be an awful lot of planting new trees at Island Point (Herron), which is just adding to the already huge amount of fire fuel.

Our reserves need to be cleared out before planting more trees.
