Mandurah residients spray water on Ironman competitors

THE Mandurah Ironman 70.3 was a gruelling contest of endurance and a challenge that was massively magnified by the stifling hot weather, particularly on the run lap.

Therefore, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those residents of Mary Street who selflessly used their own time and resources to stand in the street and spray the passing runners with water from their domestic hosepipes.

It was a very welcome gesture, one for which everyone was extremely grateful ” including me.

In addition, thank you to all of the volunteers on the day, you all made Mandurah very proud.
