Dismayed over rodeo cruelty

I must convey my dismay at the picture on your front page and the look of fear on the steer being ridden at the rodeo last week, (Too hot to handle, November 9).

Even more concern for the animal was caused by the statement from the organiser that “a lot of people called and cancelled due to the heat”. What about the welfare of the poor beasts being ridden in such a way in the heat?
