Mandurah resident concerned over uncaring social security policies

Staff ReporterMandurah Coastal Times

The message is consistent with the Social Security Minister’s frenzy to reduce client payments and Foodbank managers’ experiences of their clients’ budgeting.

The minister is expected to announce a reduction in payments for Centrelink clients such as the unemployed, the disabled and mentally affected. He also still aims to have periods of no payments for the unemployed aged under 30.

Foodbank managers have reported their clients reduce spending on food to ensure their essential rent, energy, credit bills and so forth are paid.

Unless the politicians develop some compassion and a conscience for the most disadvantaged, they will not be eating, drinking at Centrelink and further reducing their eating, drinking at home.
