I WAS happy to read your report of the grant to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Mandurah is lucky to own such a beautiful theatre; however, I noted that the funds were to be used for improvements to sound and signage of the theatre, but not for the installation of a lift for the use of disabled and elderly patrons to the circle seating.
Some years ago, the Reading Cinemas were made to install lifts to their theatres, but the arts centre disabled and elderly patrons must either sit in the stalls or not attend performances of their choice.

READ NOWI ask Mr Day and those in charge of the arts centre, why, when part of the report quotes the funding is for, “upgrading equipment and improving access to the arts”?
