Bus Shelter an Overnight Job

Janice TeoMandurah Coastal Times

THE council does move in mysterious ways.

Last week I rang the council to inquire when a bus shelter would be erected opposite the Novara store at Falcon.

The officer very politely asked location and so forth, advising that as patronage was low for this location, it was unlikely a shelter would be erected.

But he advised that if I wrote to the council making a request, it would be considered as budget and so forth would have to be discussed.

I pointed out the “footbridge to nowhere” cost overrun would cover any shelters requested.

Imagine my shock while going to get my newspaper, to find, lo and behold, a sparkling new shelter.

It must have been erected overnight.
