Yes, I agree some dog owners are aware of their responsibilities regarding their dog being on a leash and aware of other users on the beach and pathways.
Often, you see some owners look the other way when their dog defecates, either on a path or beach, making no attempt to cover it up or remove it.
While fishing, I have experienced dogs urinating on your fishing bag, the owners completely oblivious to their dog’s activity.
I have approached the City of Mandurah about patrolling cycle paths and their argument is they have to be near their vehicle in case of dog attacks and so forth. Obviously, they do not carry phones or radios.
I also suggested to the council that rangers are supplied with cycles to patrol beaches and pathways.
What a sight for our ratepayers to see ” our rangers on foot or bicycles.
