Stable star Im Victorious won over 1609m at Menangle in NSW in a warm-up for Sunday’s $200,000 Chariots Of Fire.

At Pinjarra a day earlier, Brennan picked up some handy spending money for his Sydney trip when Blackstar Fighter won over 2185m.

In his second run for Brennan, Blackstar Fighter drew the outside of the front line in the Alabar Westbred Pace.

Restrained to the rear of the field by Shannon Suvaljko, Blackstar Fighter gained runs between runners from the 500m point and once they turned for home, he flew down the outside to grab the lead and win by a head.

At Menangle, Im Victorious won the start and led throughout.

Punters who took the $1.50 on offer had little cause for concern as the son of Washington VC won easily by five metres, running his last 800 metres in a quick 54.4secs and finishing the last 400 metres in 26.4 secs.

Im Victorious didn’t fare so well in the Chariots of Fire barrier draw, and will start in barrier 8, coming into barrier 7 if the emergency Only The Brave does not get a start.

SQUAREGAITER All Flair made it two wins from three starts when he won over 2130m at last week’s Gloucester Park midweek meeting.

After winning the start, the Nigel Johns-trained five-year-old gained a 2.5-length break, and although tiring in the run to the line, hung on to win by three-quarters of a length.

Earlier in the meet, Scot Bay probably booked himself a Country Cups campaign following his strong win over 2130m.

The Gloucester Park win was Scot Bay’s fifth start back from a five-and-a-half-month spell.

MONDAY’S Labour Day holiday meeting at Pinjarra is one of the biggest of the season for the club.

Featuring the $25,000 Greenfields Liquor 4YO Classic, the day is a Super 9s day and will feature nine races of nine horses to be run over a mile (1609m).

There will be a Punter’s Club and entertainment provided by Leather and Lace.

Gates open at 11am and entry is free.
