Croquet: inexperience doesn’t hinder new WA champ Jock Fyfe

MANDURAH’S Jock Fyfe triumphed in stormy conditions at Halls Head Croquet Club on May 26 and 27.

Fyfe won the WA Croquet Association’s Advanced Handicap Singles Tournament.

Fyfe, who has only been playing croquet for 12 months, beat more experienced players from Gosnells, Mount Lawley, Bunbury, Como and his own club.

Club president Sheila Twine said it was a brilliant success for the City of Mandurah where Halls Head Croquet Club had been hosting open days on Saturday mornings and encouraging more men and women to take up the intriguing and popular game.
