Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe and legendary forward Matthew Pavlich pulled on the jumper in the club’s first game since losing last year’s preliminary final to eventual premiers Hawthorn.
The Tigers on the other hand left their stars at home, but there was a familiar face in the squad, with Peel Thunder product Kamdyn McIntosh returning to the ground where he played most of his football before being drafted by Richmond in 2012.
Fremantle established its dominance early in the game, leading at every change before running out 60-point winners, 14.6 (90) to 4.6 (30). Pavlich kicked four goals, while youngster Lachie Neale and Michael Walters also impressed the army of onlookers.
Fremantle travel to Mt Barker to take on Adelaide on Sunday.
