Harry McPherson has led the charge with grom prix wins, state titles and appearances in national competitions.

The latest McPherson to make waves on the surfing scene is little sister April.

April’s win at the WA junior surfing titles in the under-14s competition makes her the under-14 state champion.

Harry is ranked fourth in the state in the under-18s division.

Harry will join April in Kiama in NSW to represent WA in the national titles in December.

This is April’s first time at the nationals and Harry’s third.

Not to be forgotten is April’s twin brother Maiko.

Maiko is another surfing talent and has a ranking of eighth in the state in the under-14 boys division.

All the McPhersons compete and win regularly at Secret Harbour Board Riders Club.

‘I’m going to the high-performance camp in NSW to do training with Layne Beachley and that will be awesome.

‘I surf most mornings before school and after school, especially in winter when the swell is good,’ April said.
