Gee whiz on a horse: Mandurah rider Gee shows class at National Interschool Equestrian Championships

MANDURAH horse rider Chloe Gee (12) won the led class after at the National Interschool Equestrian Championships in Sydney.

She was riding Beijing silver medallist Megan Jones’ horse Kirby Park Invader and had only four days’ practice before the competition.

As well as winning the led class, she came third in the hunter class after she was initially placed equal first but was relegated following a countback.

Chloe came second in the combined training 60 class and third in the ridden class.

Chloe was able to participate after receiving support from the Local Sporting Champions grant, as well club members and local businesses backing her. She also organised a high tea, attended by 45 people to help raise money for her trip to Sydney.

More than 2000 school based competitors aged 5-18 years old from right around the country participated in the championships.
