Greyhounds: Astrozone soars to win Mandurah Cup

CHAMPION greyhound trainer Paul Stuart has collected some of the biggest races from around the nation but the Mandurah Cup (490m) had been one glaring omission from his trophy cabinet.

Stuart rectified that situation when Astrozone romped to an exhilarating victory in the group 3 feature race on Friday night.

Astrozone entered the race as the favourite following his barnstorming heat win the previous week and he didn’t disappoint.

The talented fawn speedster settled into fourth position behind the quick-jumping Demon Bale after the early scramble out of the traps.

Astrozone spotted Demon Bale a three-length advantage but always had the leader in his sights.
