FALCON bodyboarder Jordyn Ihms will head to Chile in December after coming third at the Australian Bodyboard Titles in Coffs Harbour this week.
Ihms won the quarter and semi-finals to get through to the top four.
Ihms just missed out on meeting a few tooth filled monsters.
Following his final, the cadets were part way through their final, when several sharks were spotted.
The beach was closed and the competition was cancelled.
Ihms, who is pretty pleased with the result, arrives back in WA tomorrow.
He trained a couple of hours a day to prepare for the competition in NSW.
The former John Tonkin College student is now trying to raise money to cover his international travel expenses.
The trip is all self-funded, he said.
