Locals to compete against world’s best at Lighthouse to Leighton Kiteboard Race

TWO local kitesurfers will compete in the Lighthouse to Leighton Kiteboard Race on Saturday .

Kathryn Davies (Coodanup) and Jack Angas (Secret Harbour) will race alongside some of the world’s best – including five-time world champion Aaron Hadlow from the UK.

A pack of 140 kiteboarders will race 19km from Rottnest Island to Leighton Beach to beat the record of 19 minutes three seconds set last year.

In favourable weather conditions the kiteboarders will be faster than the Rottnest Express ferry service.

There’s nearly A$9000 in prize money on offer.
