Magic out of finals after thriller

Jessica NicoMandurah Coastal Times

MANDURAH Magic’s women have been bundled out of the SBL finals in straight sets after going down to Rockingham in a Saturday night thriller.

After dropping game one in the best-of-three elimination final series at home, Mandurah travelled north to take on the Flames at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex in a must win to keep their finals alive.

They led at every break, holding just a two point buffer at the end of the first quarter which they extended to 12 points at half time.

With the lead still 12 points at the last break the Magic looked like running away with a comfortable away win to force a game three at home, but Rockingham rallied late to outscore the visitors in a frenetic final quarter and take out the 65-64 win.

Taylor Brown battled hard in the paint with 21 points while teammates Casey Mihovilovich and Carly Boag sunk 11 points each.
