MANDURAH Baptist College student Ethan Light is the second-fastest runner in Australia for his age group.
The Year 10 student attended the National Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Stadium and won silver in the U16 men 400m with 50.55.
“It felt good finishing off my first season with a silver medal and a personal best,” Ethan said.
“I’ve been sprinting competitively for about nine months now as front runner.
“I train every day except Sunday.
“Club training is three days a week and the rest is personal training .”
Ethan said his ultimate goal was to qualify for the Olympics, but this season he was focusing on running a sub-50.
