Mandurah girl exceeding in two sports

MANDURAH Catholic College student Jaide Britton (16) is making her mark on the footy field and is also a star basketball player.

A talented athlete, Britton has made three state teams in her two favourite sports this year.

Last year Britton received a scholarship to train with the Mandurah Magic SBL girls team.

This year she received a Mandurah Magic SBL contract and her debut game was the third game in for the Magic season. She is the youngest player on the team.

Britton made the Basketball WA state U-18 team. They competed in the Nationals Basketball competition in Townsville in April.

She also made the 18 and Under State Schools basketball team and travelled to Melbourne with the team. She was the youngest in the team.

Britton also made the new Peel Thunder WAWFL girls league team.

She was selected this year for the U-18 State squad for Football WA.

The team will play in a carnival in Perth in July against other states and will travel to the Gold Coast in July. Britton is also the youngest player in the squad and has been playing football for only three years.

Britton attends MCC on a double full sports scholarships and is studying ATAR subjects.
