The Terry Erenshaw-trained speedster has now saluted on eight occasions from as many attempts.

Louie Keeping launched well from the pink and quickly mowed down the fast-jumping Amberscent to snatch the lead as they approached the turn.

He then kicked away from a quality field that included topline short-coursers Hello I’m Leo and Mique to put the issue beyond doubt and hit the line more than three lengths ahead in 22.75sec.

Classifield Boy got the better of odds-on favourite Activator in their heat clash when he crossed that greyhound for the lead in the early stages.

It was the only break Classifield Boy needed and he eased to a comfortable victory in the fastest qualifying time of 22.62sec.

Southern River trainer Ben Maclean picked up the other two heats with Enchancia and Quedos.

Enchancia collected his fourth win on the trot when he held out the strong-finishing Fantastic Hulk to claim a narrow victory in 22.80sec.

Although he was pushed by Horlicks in the closing stages, Quedos was never seriously threatened and rolled on to win his heat by half a length in 22.65sec.
